Press coverage reports four different quantities interchangeably as “planned satellites”: how many have launched, how many a regulator has licensed, how many have been filed for, and how many have merely been announced. For the same system these differ by an order of magnitude. This registry keeps them apart and requires every number to carry a citation and an evidence grade. One record is one authorisation.
